SAMPLE EMAIL

Hi,

You are invited to take a moment to check out what my friend Karla Adolphe is up to these days. As many of you know she is a well known touring musician and she is doing a fundraiser for her new CD project called Graceland and Graveyards. The album is a collection of songs written for people in the midst of the journey of grief, and will be given away for FREE.

About a year ago Karla was privileged to be at the hospital when a dear family said goodbye to their daughter. In the midst of that beautiful and heart-wrenching day Karla witnessed music play an important role in the early stages of grief.

The goal is to create a resource to help people through the process of grief, and because of this Karla will not recoup any of her $9800 budget with cd sales. The goal is to raise at least $7500 by April 1, 2012 to cover the costs of recording, producing, mixing and mastering and marketing the album.

Please go to the link below to watch the video of Karla sharing about of the project and to listen to some of the songs. Also, on the right side of the page check out the list of perks you will receive for contributing.

SAMPLE PRESS RELEASE

“Raised from the dead inside, breaking out of honeycomb tombs”

The pathways that lead us to and from death can be complicated or devastatingly simple.  Often we find ourselves saturated with regret, doubt, memory and metaphor.  Internationally acclaimed and award-winning singer songwriter, Karla Adolphe, is intent on preserving the essence of grief’s pathways like jars of mint jelly on the window sill .

Inspired by witnessing the death of a dear friend’s daughter, this album is a collection of songs written for people in the midst of grief.  The songs have been inspired by a collection of personal stories, poetry and memoirs obtained from audience members and those connected to Karla’s online community www.therustycaravan.com.

The goal of this project is to create a FREE digital album that walks alongside those in the midst of grief; a collection of music, poetry and stories that can be played while you journal, take a drive, cry or nap.  The album is also 100% listener funded via IndieGoGo, a unique website where supporters can donate for as little as $10 and are entitled to creative incentives like The Librarian – access to Karla’s previous MP3 library.

Visit the website here www.indiegogo.com/Karla-Adolphe-Solo-Album-Graceland-Graveyards to learn more or donate!

Karla will be working with Producer Latifah Phillips (Autumn Film, Page CXVI) and Producer/Engineer David Wilton (Josh Garrels, Autumn Film, Page CXVI, Aaron Strumpel, Enter the Worship Circle) and will be recording at St. Ida’s Studio on Lafayette, CO.
