Friends!  we are so pleased that in a little over 1 week over 1000 folks downloaded Honeycomb Tombs!!!  Wahooooo!

Our goal is 10,000 downloads this year, and your efforts towards raising the money to make the album, reviewing the album on your various blogs and sharing the album with friends has been overwhelming and inspiring!  We truly appreciate you and love partnering with you.

Some of the next steps for the album include:
1. Marketing the album to Canadian radio (specifically the CBC and college radio stations)
2. Pursuing CD reviews from print media in Canada and the US
3. Planning to raise approx $1500 to print 1000 hard copy cds to distribute to radio and Hospice Care Centers in Canada.
4. Planning to raise approx $1500 to further advertise Honeycomb Tombs (online, print media, Hospice Care Centers etc)

Hi friends! We are excited and anxiously awaiting more final mixes from mr David Wilton at St. Ida’s! The album is receiving final instrument touches like violin, cello, mandolin and lap steel.

We are also right in the middle of our marketing campaign. It is a huge undertaking and we appreciate the over 80 individuals who have agreed to be on our street team. These folks with everyday blogs and listening ears will be reviewing the album in early May! Want to join the team? Email me karla@karlaadolphe.ca

The cd will be released to the general public on May 15, a few weeks later than expected. IndieGoGo supporters will receive the MP3 version of the album on May 1 as planned.

We are also in the midst of pursuing some national partnerships to allow the album to better reach those who are grieving, more on that later!

CRUST
1 1/2 cups Flour
6 tbsp Butter softened
1 tsp salt
add any fresh herbs to the dough for extra flavor – my favorite are rosemary or chives

FILLING
3 Eggs
2 Egg Yolks
3/4 cup Cream or Whole Milk
Crumbled Feta
Tomatoes sliced
Greens/Spinach
2 tbsp Dijon Mustard

To prepare crust, start by mixing butter with electric mixer and start adding flour and salt until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.  Then add just enough cold water to bind the dough.  Roll the dough out and place in a 9inch pie pan, spread to the edges.  Place in fridge for at least an hour.  Heat oven to 375F, poke holes in the crust with a fork, cover with tin foil or parchment paper and place a can of beans on the crust, cook for 20-25 min.  Let the crust cool just a little while you prepare filling.

To prepare filling, mix eggs, egg yolks, feta and milk.  Spread Dijon mustard on the crust, then pour filling onto crust.  Place tomato slices and handfuls of spinach loosely on top of the filling.  Cook at 375F for 20-25 min or until filling is set!

I love Easter, it gets me thinking about what is possible. I know this by the response I have in my gut when I think about a man being raised from the dead.  Is this even remotely possible?  But I know when your heart leaps, when your gut turns, when your mind tries really hard to wrap itself around an idea, this is where life is found.

Get your hands dirty and unearth your dreams and unearth your spirit, wouldn’t it be amazing if resurrection was a currency in your life?  What would you like to cash in?

The concept of resurrection is so primal and instinctual, it is what we capture in our skin and bones every spring, it is an essential concept to living!  How would we emerge from grief without it, how can we risk without it, how can we dream and believe without it’s innate touch on our lives.  How can we endure and persevere in the midst of great trial and struggle without it’s promises!

Go find resurrection, allow it to mysteriously get into your veins and see what it does!  It is the mystery of the possible, the ability to risk greatly, the provision of trusting.

Hey friends!

Here is your first chance to hear a song from the new album, it is called Graceland + Graveyards.  I wrote this song about a year ago, after learning about the flooding that was occurring in Memphis, TN.  I was heartbroken to see the struggle of the inner city people who were losing their homes and possessions to the muddy Mississippi waters; sometimes grief is like a dirty spring flood in a steamy southern city.

6 cups Rice Krispees
5 cups small Marshmallows or 40 large Marshmallows
1/4 cup Butter
1 tsp Vanilla

melt butter, vanilla and marshmallows, add cereal.  Lightly butter a large piece of tin foil or use plastic wrap to create a log shape with the cereal.  Refrigerate for a few hours until firm, then unwrap and cut into 1 inch thick discs.  Decorate with melted chocolate, sprinkles, icing or smarties!
