Hey guys i am back! Sorry I have not been posting recipes these last few months, living in an RV and moving to another country really ate up my time
. So here is a recipe I got off Allrecipes.com
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 large onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
4 large carrots, sliced
5 new potatoes, quartered
2 cups vegetable broth
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon curry powder
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Heat oil in a soup pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and cook stirring often until onion is translucent. Add carrots and potatoes, and cook for just a few minutes to allow the carrots to sweat out some of their juices.
Pour the vegetable broth into the pot, and season with ginger, curry powder, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, until carrots are tender.
Puree soup in small batches using a food processor or blender, or if you have an immersion blender, it can be done in the soup pot. Reheat soup if necessary, and serve.

Hey friends!
How are your dreams doing these days? How is your heart, is it beating full force alive, like in the middle of a workout, endorphins rushing. Is it sluggish and needing a boost, a reminder of its trajectory and direction? Or is your heart afraid, doubting the decisions that have led you to where you currently are.
My heart has its feet in all of those puddles. Moving here to High River I have had all those moments, exhilaration, depression and fear. I am having a hard time meeting people, afraid I will not have deep and meaningful relationships, long conversations, a babysitter I can trust, all of it. I have been afraid that I chose wrong by coming to a place where I know no one and have no safety nets, no grandparents or “connections”. But yet at the same time, every day is an adventure, I discover new things about my town, learn about half-price Gluten Free pasta Mondays, go to the Jr B hockey game or drive 30 min and spend a day in the mountains!
How do we navigate these life moments and create beauty out of the unraveling of transition? We need reminders. I look to fellow pioneers, seeing the sweat on their brow and it helps me feel a bit more normal. I remember the original dream, that moments of mystery that meet us in a song, prayer, right before we fall asleep, in that inexplicable “feeling” that is the compass of my life. I am building a house on a rock that is often overlooked, I am choosing a way that is narrow, I am writing a song that needs to be sung.
I am also remembering the soil from which my heart grows, the natural and spiritual parents that have paved the way, cleared the brush and given me a piece of land. I remember the light in their eyes when I chose this road, it is joy and pride and confidence all rolled into one shiny moment.
Hugs heart, we remember you and the dream that is your food.

Last night was amazing! I had the joy of watching the CW’s new show Hart of Dixie with the Pasleys, Holly and Laurie; and towards the end my song came on!!!!!! The song You Are Mine (download it free here) from Enter the Worship Circle’s Chair and Mic Vol 3 was featured in an important scene!! It was a surreal and amazing moment to hear my voice on a TV show, and to imagine strangers all across North America hearing it! What an honor.
As Gary and I went to bed and recalled the beautiful moment, I couldn’t help but feel a gentle nudge, a whisper saying “this is still your destiny, to sing songs in the general market, so proclaim good news, to soothe and bring healing.” A gentle reminder of who I am and one of my functions on earth.
I don’t know where my music or creativity will travel to next, I am excited about being back in Canada and re engaging the folk music culture, I am hopeful to write and record with Caleb again, I dream of touring across the Great White North again, I hope the music will have wings and fly into ears and hearts that need to hear!
Watch the scene that featured my song!

Friends,
I am writing this blog as a confession and communication of sorts. Yesterday Gary and I found out about the sudden death of our dear friend Sandi, a mother in the faith to us and many others, as well as a wife and mother in the natural realm. We adore her and her family and are so sad to hear about this life cut short.
In the wake of this news I felt a renewed stirring to commit to writing a set of songs about and for grief, a project I started to think about in January of this year. I am terrified. I ask for your thoughts, prayers, stories and trust as I risk and venture into this heartbreaking subject. I expect to cry alot, uncover a deep joy, touch hope and get a glimpse of eternity that, I hope, will tape together a fragile heart.
Thank you to those who have sent stories and poems, I hope to honor your story and memories. I am going to start today, the 1st day of Autumn and hope to be finished by Dec 22, the 1st day of Winter. I believe I am in a unique moment, and look forward to the changes I will see in my heart, soul, emotions and mind. I hope to post songs and the stories that inspired them as we go.
To an undone heart:
As you shatter
You will be gathered
As you weep
You will be heard
As you fail
You will be protected
As you die
You will know rebirth

Denver 48 Hour Film Project – Best Score
Have you ever heard of a 48hr Film Festival? Here is a bit of info from Wade Yamaguchi of Yamo Films:
For those of you unfamiliar with 48 hour, the goal is to write, film, and edit a short in 48 hours. For more info, go to 48hourfilm.com This film was made as part of the Denver 48 Hour Film Project.
We drew the genre of family film, which at first seemed like a headache. However, I think it turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it allowed us to tell a very simple, human story in a really fun and creative way.
This film was directed by Frazer Lockhart of F Stop Productions and shot by Wade Yamaguchi of Yamo Films. It was written by Tim Cloran and Produced by Christopher Moore. It stars Ryan Ross, Jessica Nuñez-Wood, Jesse Haun, and Tom Doyle.
3 songs from The Emporiums album The Singing Well were used in the score and won Best Score at the festival!!! Watch it here!
Friends, please feel free to spread the word about these awesome opportunities on facebook, twitter and your blogs!

Ok so Gary and I tried this whilst camping on the Arkansas River, it turned out to be AMAZING!! I think you can combine these flavors in a camping tin foil packet, with small new potatoes or in a classic baked potato form!
Bake your potatoe however you wish, top with roasted beets (see below) a dab of butter and feta cheese!
Wash your beets well, cut them in half and place in a baking dish or tin foil with olive oil, salt and pepper. Cook until soft, peel the skins and dice, top potato with these delicious treats!!
